About the VBTFA

Virginia Beach Task Force on Aging

The Task Force will serve as a forum to share information and to promote inter-agency understanding, and to work together as advocates, educators and legislative activists to address the issues of older adults. The Virginia Beach Task Force on Aging held its first meeting in 1993. The organization received the support of Mayor Meyera Obendorf, and City Manager, James Spore. During its first year, the organization published a resource guide for seniors and held its first legislative breakfast. Over the ensuing years, the Virginia Beach Task Force has continued to address the needs of the elderly by: * Sponsoring events focusing attention on issues important to seniors * Charitable Gifting to non-profit organizations that benefit seniors in Virginia Beach (see application below or on Additional Info Tab)* Funding worthy projects directly serving seniors in Virginia Beach Individuals, committees and informal groups within the Task Force stand ready to offer their services for seniors. New project ideas are always welcome. Bring your creativity and energy. Join us!
